It’s a quite drastic headline I know but try to think as being a company who as to choose over the license fees of Android and WP7.
Microsoft is now getting money for every Android smartphone sold from HTC. This is putting a price into Android, which used to be free for licensees. If Android starts to be more expensive than WP7 or WebOS I think it’s pretty obvious it’ll lose it’s lead as it’s the least differentiating mobile operating system of them all.
Well played Microsoft!
But this is not only about Android. Manufacturers will have to run down for prices as they’ll lose margin to differentiate from each other as these platforms mature.
